Pelosi, Sarbanes Announce Vice Chairs to Democracy Reform Task Force
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democracy Reform Task Force Chair Rep. John Sarbanes (D-Md.) announced the appointment of 15 Vice Chairs to the Democracy Reform Task Force, which will advance legislative reforms to return us to a government of, by and for the people. The Task Force will also work to confront the Trump Administration’s conflicts of interest and Republicans’ special interest agenda.
“We are proud of our Democracy Reform Task Force and looking forward to its contributions to our shared fight for all Americans. Now more than ever, we must confront schemes to muffle the voices of hard-working Americans by championing voting rights and campaign finance reform,” House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said. “The Democracy Reform Task Force brings the expertise, leadership, and energy to our enduring efforts to create a stronger America for all.”
“While President Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress roll ahead with their special-interest agenda and flout our nation’s anti-corruption laws, House Democrats will fight back on behalf of the American people,” said Congressman Sarbanes. “I’m proud to have such a diverse, committed and talented group of Vice Chairs join the Task Force. Together, we will call out President Trump’s unprecedented and unconstitutional conflicts of interest, expose the Republican special-interest agenda, and help improve accountability in our democracy.”
