Make Voting More Accessible, Secure

I am a "super voter" in Congressman Posey's district. I have voted in every election since I was 18. This has been relatively easy for me as I have never held a 9-5 job. I work on my schedule. I recognize that the vast majority of people do not live as I do. Voting, we would all agree, is the foundation of our democracy and yet has only been available as a right of all citizens for roughly the last 50 years of our nearly 250-year history as a country. We now have the opportunity, with H.R. 1, known as For the People Act, to both modernize voting and make voting more accessible and even more secure. Congressman Bill Posey voted against H.R. 1 when he first had the opportunity. I implore him to reconsider and I also beg my fellow citizens to both read the content of the proposed legislation and then contact your elected representative, with just a quick phone call or a post card, and let your voice be heard. More citizens voting should always be the goal of every democracy.
